Three weeks after Mrs. Sharon Ojeifo, a mother of one was allegedly murdered by the wife of a police officer at a birthday party in uptown Benin, Mr. Richie Ojeifo, the distraught husband of the 33-year-old pregnant woman has accused the police of foul play in the conduct of investigations into the gruesome murder.
What was supposed to be a happy birthday organized by a police woman, Mrs. Beauty Ajilo degenerated into a push, then a shove and a fierce fight on February 5 following a heated argument over fish barbecue by the two women. Mrs. Ojeifo who was allegedly stabbed on the thigh by her enranged assailant died of her wounds at a local hospital where she was rushed to for treatment.
The victim reportedly died later from the injury.
The incident it was gathered led to a clash between Ogheghe youths and members of Hausa community in the area in which property were destroyed.
When contacted the Police Public Relations Officer, Edo state command, DSP Princewill Osaigbovo confirmed the incident but said he was not aware of any death.
He said the commissioner of police has met with the community, adding that normalcy has returned to the area.
Meanwhile, Edo state government had ordered the reconstitution of the Peace Committee in the state.
The governor, Godwin Obaseki, gave the order during a meeting with members of Arewa Community and members of Ogheghe Community in Ikpoba Okha Local Government of the State.

A revenue collector was reportedly stabbed to death, on Tuesday night, at the small town of Ogheghe, Ikpoba Local Government Area of Edo State. by a motorcyclist.
The deceased, a community youth leader who was simply identified as Osazuwa died from severe wounds inflicted on him by the motorcyclist following an argument over the payment of tax which snowballed into physical combat.
Local youths went on a rampage, attacking innocent people when news of the death of the revenue collector filtered in.

A family feud between two siblings, Kadir and Suleiman, in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, on Friday, resulted in the death of the younger one, Suleiman, who was stabbed to death by his elder brother, Kadir.
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the brawl started when Suleiman scolded Kadir’s wife for being rude to her mother-in-law, the siblings’ mother, and the matter did not go down well with Kadir, who felt slighted that his younger brother had the guts to rebuke his (Kadir’s) wife.
Kadir, who was said to be away when the altercation between his mother and his wife occurred allegedly engaged the victim who was his younger brother in a brawl but, their mother’s intervention calmed frayed their nerves.
