Step by step, Lahaina Intermediate School teacher Nate Kahaiali‘i has faith there will be progress toward recovery from the Aug. 8 Maui wildfires that destroyed his childhood home.
Children and staff of Princess Nahiʻenaʻena Elementary School and Kamehameha III Elementary were treated to a Lahaina Toy Surprise and Delight event on Wednesday. The event aimed to bring joy to families impacted by the Lahaina wildfires and create a Winter Wonderland filled with surprises and delights for students and staff.
The Hawaiʻi State Teachers Association, in partnership with Kamehameha Schools, has provided more than 1,000 backpacks to Lahaina students affected by wildfires.
