In the spirit of hope and community resilience, The Salvation Army’s “Magical Maui Christmas” event brought warmth and love to over 2,000 Maui wildfire survivors. The event took place at the Queen Kaʻahumanu Center on Dec. 9, 2023, with the goal of creating a memorable Christmas experience for survivor families to uplift their spirits and bring some much-needed holiday joy.
The Salvation Army’s cherished Angel Tree tradition aims to make the holiday season a little brighter for families who face financial hardships and are struggling to make ends meet, by providing Christmas gifts for their children. Walmart donated more than 30,000 toys to The Salvation Army for this event and other efforts this holiday season.
Children and staff of Princess Nahiʻenaʻena Elementary School and Kamehameha III Elementary were treated to a Lahaina Toy Surprise and Delight event on Wednesday. The event aimed to bring joy to families impacted by the Lahaina wildfires and create a Winter Wonderland filled with surprises and delights for students and staff.
