BROCKTON – On one of the loosely bunched islands of Cape Verde, formed by volcanoes aggressively erupting from the ocean floor, Nuno Ribeiro was born.
The young boy living in Praia would one day become an artist whose work is deeply influenced by African culture and will be displayed in his new home, a city with one of the highest Cape Verdean populations in Massachusetts and the United States. I want to show my passion for art and inspire immigrants like me never to give up their passion, if it s art, music and drawing. With my opportunity of displaying the African Scarification exhibit in the Enso gallery, I can better showcase my work by giving the viewers a full insight into my creativity, said the Brockton resident.
