Published in Nature Medicine, the research reveals that the first bout of dengue can be equally life-threatening. Led by researchers at the International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) in New Delhi, the study analyzed severe dengue cases in children, showing that more than half were attributed to primary infections.
