Atiwa East District s Agric Department conducts its 2020 performance review – Ghana Visions

+ The Atiwa East Department of Agriculture conducted a performance review to access agricultural activities and extension delivery in 2020. The program invited Processors, Farmers, Agro input dealers, Extension Officers, and Staff of the Atiwa East District Assembly. The Atiwa East District Coordinating Director, Mr. Simon Asare congratulated Mr. Samuel Ofosu, the District Director of Agriculture for emerging as the 2020 Best Director of Agriculture in Eastern Region and Mr. Annor Boateng for being awarded the 2020 Eastern Regional Best Agriculture Extension Agent. He indicated that the Director and an Extension Officer winning these prestigious awards suggest the overall performance of the district department of agriculture.

Atiwa East District Assembly makes donations towards the development of Agriculture By Samuel Baah 2 The Atiwa East District Assembly under the leadership of Hon. Lawyer Kwabena Panin Nkansah has donated two threshers and 200 pieces of rice nets to over 300 farmers belonging to 5 Farmer Based Organisations in the rice value chain. The donation was made in fulfillment of the District Assembly’s commitment towards the promotion of rice production in the district. The Atiwa East District Chief Executive Hon Lawyer Kwabena Panin Nkansah urged farmers to adopt the use of rice nets. He said that the donation of the rice nets was a measure to reduce the stress in driving away birds manually by farmers. He added that the nets will also help solve the problem of using children to scare birds so they can return to school.
