The Local Produce Festival is an initiative that falls within Al Meera’s long-standing support for Qatar Farms Programme and Premium Qatar Farms Programme under MME’s sponsorship.
Starting from February 25, the festival will feature a variety of vegetables and promotions at its branches across Qatar.
The initiative offers local small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) that operate in the food industry the chance to showcase their produce at Al Meera’s prominent shelf spaces while also providing access to fresh and high-quality products for its customers.

Doha: Al Meera Consumer Goods Company (QPSC) has launched its traditional ‘Local Produce Festival’ in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME). The festival was launched on February 25 and will run for two weeks featuring a variety of vegetables and promotions at the retailer’s branches.
The initiative is in line with Al Meera’s long-standing support for Qatar Farms Programme and Premium Qatar Farms Programme under the sponsorship of the MME. The retail giant is currently spread over 50 localities in the country giving producers, and SMEs in the food industry the opportunity to showcase their products to the marketplace at prominent shelf spaces whilst simultaneously provides its wide-customer base access to fresh high-quality products at great prices.

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) said that ‘Qatar Farms Programme and ‘Premium Qatar Farms Programme helped market over 3,752 tonnes of local vegetables in January.
Over 3265 tonnes of vegetables were sold out under Qatar Farms Programme, however Premium Qatar Farms Programme contributed in selling 487 tonnes vegetables.
The sale of premium Qatari vegetables increased 61 percent recording 487 tonnes vegetables in January 2021 compared to 302 tonnes vegetable in January 2020.
The local vegetables sold through Qatar Farm Programme witnessed 52 percent increase from 2141 tonnes in January 2020 to 3265 tonnes in January 2021.
