Im confident and dedicated i am confident that the dedicated and hardworking staff throughout the department of building inspection are aware of the response to the people of San Francisco and will continue to do their duty and uphold the public trust which theyve been doing in the last week. As you know were dealing with, you know, a Public Health emergency in our city. And our state and country, that we have never, never had to encounter before. On behalf of the commission, i urge all d. B. I. Staff and customers to follow the instructions under Public Health officials and to do their part to prevent the spread of covid19. We have to act boldly and take a leap of faith at times to say we see you, we understand what youre experiencing. We understand youre deciding today whether or not to close or stay open, and here is another option for you to help you make that decision and hopefully allow you to stay open for three more months while all these other programs are put into place. Clerk yes, please due to the covid19 Health Emergency and to protect Board Members and the City Employees and the public, the board of supervisors legislative chamber and Committee Room are closed. However, members will be participating in the meeting remotely. And precaution is taken pursuant to the statewide stay at home order and all preceding and proceeding local, state and federal orders, declarations and orders. Members will be by teleconference or telephone if the video fails and participate in the meetings to the extent as if they were physically present. District, and the Palo Alto School district. These and others will be closed for the next several weeks. A complete list of district closures can be found on our website. We are also banning gatherings of 35 to 100 people unless organizers implement five specific measures to reduce the risk of covid19 transmission. Such as preventing anyone who is sick with a fever or respiratory system from attending. And ensuring that those who are at higher risk for serious illness do not attend. Thats the new emergency order from the Santa Clara County Health Department. It banned gatherings as small as 35. The lowest in the bay area. And it takes effect as midnight. Were seeing more evidence of people panicshopping. This was the scene at costco in concord. Shoppers were limited to one package of toilet paper, one package of paper toums and bottled war per cart holder. Tom vacar spoke to students and officials within the Oakland School district about the unprecedented closure. Reporter this is linc
