However, now, rainfall activity is set to reduce over the northern plains and tomorrow Pre Monsoon activity will remain confined to hills of North India. Plains will not see any significant rains and only isolated activity may be seen.
Today, Southwest Monsoon has entered the extreme southern parts of Gujarat along with Diu. Normally, Saurashtra and Central Gujarat sees the onset of Monsoon around June 18 and 20, and marks it entry around June 15 into southern parts of Gujarat.
Monsoon has already advanced over most parts of Konkan and Goa including Mumbai. Conditions are becoming favourable for further advancement of Monsoon over parts of South Gujarat, many parts of Maharashtra, some parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, parts of East Bihar and Jharkhand in the next 2 to 3 days.
In the close proximity, Northeast India is seeing heavy rains and Monsoon current is reaching Gangetic West Bengal soon, but may take about 4-5 days and Kolkata will see the onset of Monsoon only around June 15.
