Voting begins for West Bengal fourth phase polls ANI | Updated: Apr 10, 2021 07:01 IST Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], April 10 (ANI): Voting for 44 constituencies in West Bengal s fourth phase Assembly elections began at 7 am on Saturday amid tight security. This phase of the elections will witness an intense battle between 373 candidates in 44 constituencies of the state across five districts - Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, South 24 Parganas, Howrah and Hooghly. Among the 44 constituencies, nine are in Howrah, 10 in Hooghly, 11 in South 24 Parganas, five in Alipurduar and nine in Cooch Behar. A total of 1,15,81,022 voters will participate in this phase, out of which 2,63,016 are first-time voters. The smallest constituency is Bally with 1,76,001 electorates whereas Chunchura is the biggest constituency with 3,13,701 electorates.

A total of 1,15,81,022 voters will participate in this phase, out of which 2,63,016 are first-time voters. The smallest constituency is Bally with 1,76,001 electorates whereas Chunchura is the biggest constituency with 3,13,701 electorates. As many as 15,940 polling stations will be used, including 12,361 main and 3,579 auxiliary stations.

West Bengal elections: Voting for conflict-ridden phase IV polls ends with 76.16 pc turnout ANI | Updated: Apr 10, 2021 19:55 IST Kolkata (West Bengal) [India], April 10 (ANI): Polling for the fourth phase of the tightly-contested West BengalAssembly elections ended on Saturday evening with a voter turnout of 76.16 per cent. A total of 373 candidates contested for 44 constituencies across five districts - Cooch Behar, Alipurduar, South 24 Parganas, Hooghly and Howrah. Out of 373 candidates, 323 candidates were male and 50 candidates were female. Cooch Behar recorded the highest turnout among districts while Bhangar saw maximum voters among all constituencies. Female voters dominated this phase as out of a total of 1,15,094,950 voters, 58,95,871 voters were men and 56,98,789 voters were women while 290 were of other genders.
