Maharashtra government has decided to temporarily suspend the first phase of Covid-19 vaccination drive in the entire state due to technical issues with CoWIN App, the state health department said on Saturday.
Vaccinations are expected to begin after 18 January.

Odisha became the first state to halt the first phase of the COVID-19 vaccination drive for a day. The Odisha administration decided not to conduct the coronavirus vaccination drive on January 17 to observe if those who received the COVID-19 vaccine on January 16 developed any complication from the jab.“We want to observe those who took the vaccine. From Monday, the vaccination drive will continue till all 3.28 lakh health workers are inoculated,” said Pradipta Mohapatra, Additional Chief Secretary (Health), Odisha, on January 16.

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Jan 16 (ANI): Odisha Additional Chief Secretary Pradipta Mohapatra of Health Ministry on Saturday said that there will be no COVID-19 vaccination drive on January 17 as the administration wants to observe the people who took vaccines today. After tomorrow, the vaccination drive will continue from Monday to January 25 as per government guidelines, Mohapatra added.
Out of 16,405 targeted beneficiaries for today, around 13,980 people gOt COVID-19 vaccine across Odisha in the first phase of the vaccination drive.
A total number of three adverse effects (AEFI) reported in Cuttack, Dhenkanal, and Gajapati districts respectively, official data said.
