Bangladesh’s archery poster boy Ruman Shana displayed a disappointing performance in the recently concluded Victory Day Archery at Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi this month. Shana failed to secure a notable position in any of the two events of competition namely singles and mixed doubles.
Archery returned to the field with this three-day meet after a long 11-month break. Shana missed the bronze in recurve men singles after conceding 0-6 set points defeat to Md Tamimul Islam after losing to 2-6 set points defeat to Abdur Rahman Alif in the semifinal. The misfortune also followed him in recurve mixed doubles. The pair of Shana-Mehenaz Akter Monira conceded a 4-5 set defeat to the pair of Pradipta Chakma and Dia Siddiqi in the bronze medal match.

Bangladesh s celebrated archer Ruman Shana claimed the top slot in the qualification round of the men s recurve single of the Victory Day Archery, started at the Shaheed Ahsan Ullah Master Stadium in Tongi on Monday.
Shana, who returned to the field after a long 11-month break, scored the highest 654 out of 720, on the day. Imdadul Haque Milon secured second slot scoring 649, Pradipta Chakma third scoring 648, Abdur Rahman Alif fourth scoring 645 and Md Hakim Ahmed Rubel fifth scoring 640.
In the women’s recurve single, Mehenaz Akter Monira topped scoring 630 out of 720, Eti Khatun became second scoring 626, Dia Siddiqi third scoring 612, Beauty Roy fourth scoring 609 and Nasrin Akter fifth scoring 591.
