Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured that the new draft laws for Lakshadweep which are being opposed by the islanders will not be finalised without consulting local representatives, its MP Mohammed Faizal said on Monday.
"He has assured that whatever laws that are under the consideration, they will be sent to Lakshadweep where they will be consulted with the local representatives in the district panchayat. People s consent will be taken into consideration before they are finalised," Faizal said.

Celebrating the Muslim festival of Eid with his family on Thursday, Umar Mogra needed no reminder of the lethal capacity of Covid-19.
In February the virus swept through his family home in the narrow terraced streets of the Rumworth area of Bolton, infecting Umar, a 24-year-old pharmacology student at the University of Central Lancashire, and claiming the life of his 54-year-old father.

While Patel wasn’t the first to bring Firehouse Subs to Canada, he was the first Canadian to sign a franchisee agreement.
