PRAYAGRAJ: City based artistic gymnast Mohammad Rafey, who has been awarded Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar-2021 for exceptional abilities and outstanding accomplishments in the fields of sports, was delighted and thrilled after a virtual interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday.
Rafey (17) was one among the five children from Uttar Pradesh selected for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar-2021.
After the video-conferencing at district collectorate-based National Informatics Centre (NIC), Prayagraj, Rafey, who had won a medal in junior Asian Games held in Mangolia in 2019, said, “I feel honoured on being selected for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar. It was a great moment for me when I interacted with PM. He is the biggest leader of the world.”

NEW DELHI: The Union home ministry on Monday announced a list of gallantry awards for Republic Day celebrations of 2021.
Republic Day is celebrated to commemorate the day the Indian Constitution came into power. This year s celebrations mark the 72nd Republic Day, since it was first observed in 1950. Republic Day celebrations are marked by a parade by the Indian Army, Indian Navy Force and Indian Air Force, accompanied by various air shows at Rajpath in New Delhi.

New Delhi, Jan 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday lauded the contribution of children in raising awareness about handwashing during the COVID-19 pandemic, and said that a programme tastes success if they become part of it.
In an interaction with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar awardees via video conferencing, Modi praised the winners and said they should never stop working and stay humble all the time. He also asked them to work for the country, urging them to think of what they can do as the nation approaches the 75th year of its Independence.
