The members of the family were reportedly killed with knives and axe in Abu Dhabi Colony, Chak No 135-P, 15-kilometre away from Rahim Yar Khan city, the New International reported, ANI cited. Social activist Birbal Das told the portal that Ram Chand was a Meghwal Hindu who was running a tailoring shop for a long time. The 35-year-old was a peaceful man, living a happy life , he told the portal.

J&K: 155 illegal Rohingya immigrants held as govt begins verification process

Updated Mar 07, 2021 | 10:42 IST The verification process of Rohingya immigrants was started by the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Saturday. Biometric and other details of Rohingyas, such as place of stay, were collected. J&K: 155 illegal Rohingya migrants held during verification  Jammu: As many as 155 illegal Rohingya immigrants staying in India were held in Jammu and Kashmir as the government began the verification process. The immigrants were found without holding valid travel documents as per the terms of Section 3 of the Passports Act.  This was done under section 3(2)e of the Foreigners Act. Due process of law was followed in this exercise, a senior officer said.  After sending them to the holding centres, the process of nationality verification will be done as per the prescribed process. After completion of the Nationality verification, the process of deportation of these illegal immigrants will be initiated, he added.
