elevation areas, even 3 or 4 feet of snow. a lot of drivers stranded throughout california because of what we re experiencing. here are some of those drivers. we heard, like, over the radio saying, hey, a snowstorm. i think it was a winter advisory or something over the radio. we were like oh no, then all of a sudden this blizzard came. we didn t know where we were, didn t know where to go, didn t know what roads were safe. i didn t even know it snowed in california. it s pretty, but it s like why are you here? this is supposed to be a warm state. reporter: yes, it s pretty. we have seen children and their mothers playing their snowball fights. but it is dangerous and inconvenient. there s about 120,000 people all over the state without power at the moment. we re seeing some of those power trucks trying to get out of here. it s even difficult for them to get out and work. that s what we re seeing all over the state, everyone
who would ever imagine a scene like that? almost like the movie world put that there. no, it s mother nature. and then to the north, guys, in portland, oregon, all those stranded vehicles as they got nearly a foot of snow. and then if we jet across the country to motorcycle, wisconsin, unfortunately, a parking garage flattened, caved in by the weight of the snow. just terrible scen scenarios frm these winter weather scenarios. and then how about all these power outages. here where i m at in michigan over 700,000 people still without power. that s one out of 10 people in this state. over 50,000 out of power in california. and the state of illinois, land of lincoln, over 20,000. power trucks are rolling out here this morning, many have left this parking lot headed south to try and restore the power here in lansing, which is the capitol. we have more crews leaving. what a scene yesterday as the entire area was iced over here
this entire area, all the prairie and the brush and the cacti blanketed with ice and it cracks right off. listen. that is what it s called, an ice storm here in texas as literally 2100 winter vehicles are out treating these roads across the state. there are three people dead, tragically, because of this. these roads are nearly impassable. airports have delays and cancellations. this is the third round of the ice storm. in the meantime, there are areas like this that look just coated in a winter wonderland and many areas like dallas fort worth looking the same, to the north, abilene, they are waiting, and power trucks are going out. john: one person s winter wonderland is another s nightmare. sandra: new at 2:00, 2 major

north carolina that don t have power, they don t have heat and that perhaps is the most crucial because overnight the temperatures got as low as 31 degrees. we re talking about below freezing temps. now we are in the second-straight morning that they have had to awaken with no power. you know, when we drive around this area, we see that there are just few spots of places that are powered only by generator. we found a local grocery store, for instance, where the parking lot was full. the line was almost out the door because those are just the very few places that people can actually go. but officials say that even though duke energy is working around the clock, we saw a number of power trucks driving in and out of one area trying to fix the power, they say it could still be as late as thursday before some people have their power back on. now, the other piece of this, of course, is the investigation. remember, officials say that they believe that this was an intentional, a malicious act.
