This is the day that people age 90 and over and indigenous people 65 and over can start booking their covid-19 vaccine shots if they have not had one already. To book an appointment call 1-877-740-7747 between 7am and 7pm, seven days a week. Interior health is opening up 49 clinics and you will be told which one to go to. You’ll need to provide your name, date of birth, personal health number and contact information when you call. Full info here
More roadwork for Glenrosa residents for the next 3 months. Starting today crews will close Glenrosa Road from Morningside to Webber and McIver Road from Glenrosa to McTaggart. Some lanes will be reopened after work hours and on weekends as the work involves sidewalks, storm sewers, curbs, streetlights and some road improvements.

Jim Cotter’s Vernon team at the Tim Hortons Brier in Calgary improved to 3 and 4 with a 7-4 win over Manitoba’s Jason Gunnlaugson in Draw 16.
However, Alberta’s win over Yukon in the same draw eliminated the B.C. team from playoff contention.
Cotter, who is making his 10th Brier appearance, along with team members Steve Laycock, Andrew Nerpin and Rick Sawatsky, close out against Alberta at 5:30 p.m.
Wayne Middaugh skipped his wild card team from Ontario to a berth in the championship round with a win over Northern Ontario’s Brad Jacobs.

Search and Rescue members had everyone in place to search the backcountry near Big White Sunday night (Mar. 7) for a missing skier.
RCMP were were alerted by the skier’s family when he failed to show up on schedule and texted them to say he had a broken skin (a device to help ski uphill).
A helicopter was sent in to scour the area by air and sled teams from Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) and the Kelowna Snowmobile Club prepared to search from the ground.
Fortunately, the skier was able to find his own way out and the search teams were stood down.

Interior Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak on unit 5B at Kelowna General Hospital (KGH).
As of Saturday morning, one patient and one staff member have tested positive for COVID-19. There is no evidence of COVID-19 transmission to other areas of the hospital at this time.
The outbreak on unit 5B is not linked to the ongoing outbreak on unit 4B, which was declared on Feb. 22.
Outbreak control measures are in place and a team of infection control and communicable disease specialists, along with KGH clinical staff and leaders, are meeting daily to contain the outbreak.
The hospital remains safe to attend for appointments and emergency care. People should continue with any scheduled procedures. Self-isolation or COVID-19 testing is not required after visiting the hospital.
