Flash flooding in the Poudre Canyon of Northern Colorado triggered mudslides and dangerous debris flow on the Poudre River on Tuesday night, prompting mandatory evacuations of residents, businesses and campgrounds from Rustic to Ted s Place.
Emergency crews were tracking a debris flow on the Poudre River, according to emergency radio channels, along with reports of destroyed structures and potential fatalities. They were using drones for search and rescue operations.
Mudslides knocked down miles of power lines, according to Poudre Valley REA, which provides power to the area, and more than 100 customers in the upper Poudre Canyon were without power, according to the map of outages. PVREA said it expected to be able to restore some power Tuesday night.
