ILOILO CITY An inter-agency task force led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 6 (PDEA Western Visayas) has classified 26 barangays (villages) in Western Visayas as cleared from the illegal drugs trade and illegal drugs use.
PDEA Region 6 spokesperson Ma. Graziella Tanaleon said these barangays were declared drug free in an April 27 assessment made by the Regional Oversight Committee on Dangerous Drugs chaired by PDEA Region 6 Director Edgar Apalla.
Iloilo had the most number of drug-cleared barangays with 16. The most are in the town of Sara with eight. There are also seven drug-cleared barangays in Pototan
and one barangay in Barotac Nuevo.

Another five of these COVID-19 facilities were recently completed and turned over to the Provincial Government of Iloilo, a statement from the agency bared Sunday, March 14.
DPWH Secretary and Chief Isolation Czar Mark A. Villar, citinga report from DPWH Regional Office 6 Director Lea N. Delfinado, said that new structures were composed of three isolation/quarantine facilities located in the Provincial Sports Complex in Lapaz, Iloilo City; and two off-site dormitories situated in Dr. Ricardo V. Ladrido Memorial District Hospital in Lambunao, Iloilo and Iloilo Provincial Hospital in Pototan, Iloilo.
Villar explained that the container vans-turned-isolation/quarantine facilities had 16 air-conditioned rooms with their own comfort rooms. Also present are amenities like nurse quarters and nurse station.

th Foundation Day of the Philippine National Police (PNP) turned special when a cop proposed to his longtime girlfriend.

Police Captain Paul Vincent Pendon proposed to Hazel Joy Grate before a crowd during the February 1 celebration at Camp Delgado, the regional headquarters of Police Regional Office (PRO-6) in Iloilo City.
“My plan to propose was supposed to be private, but I also wanted to express my love for her,” Pendon told Manila Bulletin.
Pendon was able to pull off the wedding proposal as he was one of the PNP’s regional awardees.
