NegOcc gets nat l award for anti-drug campaign

26 more barangays in Western Visayas declared drug-free

Published April 28, 2021, 2:43 PM ILOILO CITY An inter-agency task force led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 6 (PDEA Western Visayas) has classified 26 barangays (villages) in Western Visayas as cleared from the illegal drugs trade and illegal drugs use. PDEA Region 6 spokesperson Ma. Graziella Tanaleon said these barangays were declared drug free in an April 27 assessment made by the Regional Oversight Committee on Dangerous Drugs chaired by PDEA Region 6 Director Edgar Apalla. Iloilo had the most number of drug-cleared barangays with 16. The most are in the town of Sara with eight. There are also seven drug-cleared barangays in Pototan and one barangay in Barotac Nuevo.
