The United States Postal Service (USPS) is hiking the price of first-class mail stamps to 66 cents from 63 cents effective Sunday. This is the latest in a series of price increases to help offset inflationary pressures and declining first-class mail volumes. USPS in January boosted stamp prices to 63 cents from 60 cents.
Due to an outage at Lee Enterprises Design Center, which puts together The Sentinel, the newspaper was late in getting printed Friday night for Saturday delivery.
On May 31, the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) approved the USPS market-dominant rate increases proposed by the Postal Service on April 10. Periodicals rates will increase 8.122% while marketing mail will increase 5.378%.
