New Delhi: The Karnataka high court on Wednesday called the Bharatiya Janata Party’s statement ‘false’ when the party in its affidavit filed before the court said that it has not conducted any public rally during the COVID-19 pandemic times,
LiveLaw reported.
This happened after the court warned that there will be action for perjury for making a false statement in the affidavit, the report added.

Kolkata: On Friday, soon after the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the dates for assembly elections in four states and one union territory in a press conference in New Delhi, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee addressed the media in Kolkata to raise questions on the “ECIâs neutrality”.
“Bihar, with about 240 seats, had the elections conducted in three phases. Assam too will undergo polls in three phases. Tamil Nadu, which has 234 seats, will have a single-phase polling, and so is the case for Kerala, which has a CPM-led government. So, why Bengal, with 294 seats, is to have an election in eight phases? For whose advantage? Shouldn’t ECI be a little rat

This will be Modi’s second visit to Tamil Nadu this month. Besides the PM, the BJP has lined up a number of senior leaders to visit the state in the next two weeks. Home minister Amit Shah will visit the state from February 28 for two days and then again on March 7.
