Indian Army is retaliating strongly. Exchange of fire started at 7:45 PM. This is first ceasefire violation after the resignation of Nawaz Sharif. Earlier on July 18, Pakistan violated ceasefire along the Line of Control in Mandher sector in Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir.

Minor girl, army jawan killed in cross-border firing in Kashmir

  A minor girl and an Indian Army jawan were killed in a cross-border firing by Pakistan on Monday near the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch s Balakote.  Pakistan reportedly violated ceasefire along the LoC in Poonch s Balakote and Rajouri a Manjakote.    The army jawan killed in the crossfire has been identified as Naik Muddasar Ahmed, a native of J&K s Tral region.  2 civilians seriously injured, schools closed for an indefinite period of time, evacuation to be done once there is break in firing, said DDC Rajouri. The incident took places hours before India and Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations held talks over the situation along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. During the telephonic conversation, Indian Army DGMO Major General AK Bhatt took a strong stand against continuous ceasefire violation by Pak army. Arms, ammunition recovered from Poonch village | India News

JAMMU: Security forces in a joint operation on Sunday claimed to have recovered more arms and ammunition in Poonch’s Balakote sector, based on disclosures made by three Pakistan-linked terrorists of J&K Ghaznavi Force who were recently arrested. The seizure included a pistol, three pistol magazines, 35 bullets and five grenades. “The fresh recovery was made from Dabbi village along the Line of Control. This was the third consecutive recovery of arms and ammunition based on the statements of the arrested trio,” IGP (Jammu Range) Mukesh Singh said. The three were caught near the LoC with six grenades on December 27. “During questioning, they revealed some vital clues about reviving terrorism in the area. On December 30, security forces busted a hideout and recovered two pistols, 70 pistol rounds and two grenades hidden under bushes along the LoC in Dabbi village,” IGP Singh said.

Pakistan violates ceasefire in two Poonch sectors | India News

JAMMU: Pakistan on Saturday violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in two sectors of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. This was the second breach of truce in the district in the past 24 hours. “Around 5pm, Pakistan initiated unprovoked firing with small arms and heavy mortar shelling along the LoC in Kirni and Malti sectors, to which Indian Army effectively retaliated,” Jammu-based defence spokesperson Lt Col Devender Anand said, adding that no injury or damage was suffered by own side in the cross-border exchange of fire. Till November 13, 2020, Pakistan violated the ceasefire around 4,052 times 128 times in November and 394 in October alone the highest-ever in a year since the ceasefire agreement was inked between both countries in November 2003.
