Anytech Solutions donated 50 copies of a book by entrepreneur Steven Bartlett to Poole High School. The author of Happy Sexy Millionaire retired at 27 from his social media marketing business Social Chain, which he started at the age of 22 and took public in 2019 with a market valuation of more than £170million. Anytech, owned by Chris Palmer, was one of only 10 businesses chosen to donate the book to local schools. Mr Palmer said: “We want to support as many children as we can in Dorset and enable them to realise their full potential. “The next generation is our future. Steven’s book is a true insight into his journey from university drop-out to starting one of the most successful social media companies in the world.”
Poole High School pupil and sailing supremo Eve Kennedy has been chosen to represent Great Britain in the World Championships, which take place in Italy and Weymouth this summer. The plucky 18 year-old, who lives in Poole, has been dinghy sailing since the age of six, introduced to the sport by her mum at Parkstone Yacht Club. And Eve really got the bug after watching the sailing preparations for the 2012 Olympic events, many of which were held off local waters in Weymouth. For the past five years, Eve has represented Great Britain in international competitions. In 2019, she attended the Laser Radial/ ILCA 6 Youth World Championships in Canada where she finished an impressive seventh place in Under 17 in the World.
