Saturday s funeral for Spring Valley Fire Department 2nd Lt. Jared Lloyd, who died fighting the March 23 Evergreen Court fire, will be a private ceremony at the Rockland Boulders stadium in Pomona.
Palisades Credit Union Park, which is owned by the Town of Ramapo, will host the 11 a.m. funeral, when Lloyd s family is expected to be joined by thousands of invited guests, filling the field and stands at the minor-league ballpark, which has a listed seating capacity of 6,580.
The ceremony will be closed to the public at the request of the family and will not be livestreamed, Rockland County spokesman John Lyon said late Thursday. Earlier in the day, County Executive Ed Day had said the event would be livestreamed.

Two pedestrians were killed in Kempton Park, and a driver from Potchefstroom lost his life in a rollover.

As reported by Arrive Alive, “two men were killed [Friday night] when they were struck by a light motor vehicle on Pomona Road in Kempton Park”.
Paramedics arrived at approximately 22:45 and found the two pedestrians on the side of the road. However, both men had already “succumbed to their numerous injuries”.
“Nothing could be done for them, and they were declared dead”.
