A couple hundred community members of all ages gathered at Rancho Bernardo High on Saturday morning to assemble more than 37,000 meals for those in need overseas.
The school’s Fight Against Hunger Club organized the event after spending the past year conducting fundraising efforts made more difficult than usual due to the pandemic.
Club President Gina Lee said the club had to raise $10,000 to cover the meal ingredients, shipment to countries such as Peru and other event costs.
