NEW YORK – The National Hockey League announced today that Jared M. Maples will be joining the League as Executive Vice President, Chief Security Officer. Maples comes to the League from the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP), where he served as its Director since 2017. He will begin his tenure with the NHL on June 7.
Commissioner Gary Bettman also announced the retirement of the current Executive Vice President of Security, Dennis Cunningham, who has served the League with great distinction since 1993.

The NHL announced Wednesday it is hiring Jared Maples as Executive Vice President and Chief Security Officer. Maples has been the director of the New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP) since 2017.
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman also announced the retirement of Dennis Cunningham, the current Executive Vice President of Security, dating back to 1993.
