Love Tasting was by far the best film presented at the new Microbudget Film Competition, dedicated to features produced with less than a €200,000 subsidy from the Polish Film Institute. In fact, it was one of the most interesting and captivating films of the entire Polish Film Festival, which concluded on 12 December.
While it seems that nothing new or fresh can be told about this utterly horrible phase of human life the teenage years Nickel manages to tackle the subject with energy and commitment. Hormones give the story a beat, while the awesome soundtrack provides emotional shelter for the group of lost (and nowhere near found) junior highschool friends, who just begin their summer vacation. The story is set in a small town, where daily life unfolds between church choir practice, hanging out at the local swimming pool, bootleg parties, the garage or basement at the parents’ house, and a balcony in a high-rise. WARSAW: The Polish Government will give an additional 27 m EUR / 120 m PLN from the COVID-19 Counteracting Fund to help the cinema industry.
The Minister of Culture, National Heritage and Sport will be able to transfer funds to the Polish Film Institute. The support will be available for film production, promotion and scholarships.
The Council of Ministers adopted an amendment to the act on special solutions related to the prevention, counteraction and combating of COVID-19, other infectious diseases and emergencies caused by them and some other acts, submitted by the President of the Government Legislation Center.

, the new drama by Piotr Domalewski, coproduced by Poland and Ireland, screened in the main competition of the Gdynia Polish Film Festival, which took place online 8 – 12 December 2020.
The drama follows seventeen-year-old Ola, who has to go to Ireland to bring her father’s remains back to Poland after he died in an accident at a building site. However, what matters most to her is to check whether he had actually set aside the money for a car he had promised her. It is only during the journey that she realises what she has really dreamt of was not a car but a relationship with her father.
