and i believe there are people in this country that want to see the country unite and prosper than those who want to see the hate and division. you have to go and articulate it. you have to go fight for it and i believe you have to call this president on his bs which vice president biden you can call him on it. you have to be better than it and then you have the policy piece also. let me ask you one question about that. the vp says you go with a plan like bernie sanders, you know, i m paraphrasing, medicare is gone, all the medicare you have is gone. that s not true. why is he saying that? well, i think what he s really saying if you look at bernie sanders plan, which is a real plan, but what it would do is, it would eliminate private insurance. it wouldn t eliminate medicare, though. it would increase coverage. it raises taxes on everybody it does. that s about cost. not coverage. our plan and by the way, that plan doesn t come to
street. what a title. she recently spent some time with warren for a profile published in the new yorker last month. one word off the top of your head having spent time with senator warren to describe her that stood out to you. it s a hard one. [ laughter ] i think at this point fearless is one word that comes to mind. she really does care about enraging large groups to what other candidates would be important donors. and i think it s notable that her language in this particular policy piece she s just put out is very strong. you mentioned she described private equity is legalized looting. she describes the financial industry as sucking value out of the economy. she basically says that they don t give any value to the economy right now. and she thinks it s bad that they have been given so many incentives through different policy proposals and that they are essentially hiring people away from other sectors where

do you think this policy piece matters? with the republican base or just generally speaking? i mean inmocratic primary, in were to come out on top. i think from that stand point that will be a number of assets that a joe biden or whomever the democratic nominee is, will be the policy piece, how do we know that? we saw a little bit of it in 2018, i m sure you tracked a lot of this, watching how center left democrats in sort of moderate areas wind up winning significantly on issues like health care. who the hell is talking about health care in 2018? certainly not republicans. that s the last thing they want to talk about. the democrats western t s went crafted local campaigns around responsive issues.
sound i m listening to right now and it won t go away. abe is sucking up to donald trump in ways that take it to a whole other level with nothing in return, or just a hope and a prayer that they can cut a deal on trade as well as north korea. and donald trump is saying and doing just the opposite or doing nothing. so it s a big risk for abe, i think. but he also does well with donald trump vis-a-vis playing to his ego which is number one priority for sucking up to donald trump, and he s making all the right moves, but donald isn t returning on the policy piece. and so that s going to be a problem. we ll have to see whether the sucking up diplomacy works for abe in this case. to that point, the president tweeting, saying that he s not going to announce any sort of trade deal until after the elections in japan in the coming months. surely that s a huge disappointment for the prime minister who has done all of this, i assume, in the hopes there could be some amelioration
