Complaints against Queensland Police to hit five year low

Complaints against Queensland Police to hit five year low20/04/2021|2min Queensland Police are on track to record the lowest number of complaints against officers in the past five years. Queensland Police Union President Ian Leavers attributed the positive downwards trend regarding complaints to body worn cameras which deter people from making false complaints. Complaints peaked in 2017 when just under 2000 were recorded against Queensland Police officers. However, the number has gradually been decreasing with this year’s figures expected to come in close to 1100. Sky News Queensland Editor Ben Murphy reported one in four complaints made against police officers were made by other police officers
