Wanted man Ricky Maddison stopped abruptly on Wallers Road â a dirt track near Gatton, west of Brisbane â and unleashed a hail of bullets on a police vehicle at close range, killing one officer inside.
The dashcam footage from the police four-wheel-drive carrying the late Senior Constable Brett Forte and his surviving on-duty partner Senior Constable Catherine Nielsen, has been released.

Speaking today at the coronial inquest into the shooting death of Senior Constable Forte, Senior Constable Catherine Nielsen described a shooting gallery as gunman Rick Maddison opened fire on their squad car in May 2017.
Senior Constable Nielsen claimed to have been threatened by superiors after she started asking questions about the circumstances that led to Senior Constable Forte s death â even revealing her gun was taken off her.

The officer who spoke to Ricky Maddison on the phone on the day the gunman killed Senior Constable Brett Forte says he deliberately enraged the wanted man.
Maddison called the Toowoomba police station hours before he murdered Senior Constable Forte, and Sergeant Peter Jenkins spoke to him for a lengthy period.
