Jammu and Kashmir: Continuing its efforts against the drug menace, the Budgam Police has arrested a notorious drug peddler and recovered narcotic substances and cash from his possession.
During Naka checking at Hanjigund Chadoora, a police party of Police Station Chadoora intercepted one person roaming suspiciously. During his personal search, 45 grams of substance suspected to be charas, 120 capsules of controlled drug Spasmoproxywon-plus and Rs 5,020 in cash was recovered from his possession.
“Incriminating materials including flags, banners and letter pad have been recovered from their possession,” it added.
Police said that preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested duo was involved in grenade lobbing incidents in Pulwama and Kulgam districts of south Kashmir and made posters, banners and flags of the militant outfits on the directions of their handlers across borders for further distribution at various locations in central and south Kashmir.
The duo, as per police, was also actively involved in recruiting militants and OGWs with the aim to carry out militant activities in Budgam.

SRINAGAR: Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two militant associates belonging to Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and recovered incriminating material in central Kashmir district of Budgam.
A police spokesperson said that following specific information, a checkpoint was established by police and 53 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) at Chadoora in Budgam on Sunday. “Security forces intercepted two persons at the checkpoint and during checking recovered incriminating material, including flags, banners and letter pad from their possession,” he said.
He said the accused were identified as Sameer Ahmed Ittoo and Ubaid Ameen Mallah, both residents of district Kulgam. “A case FIR No 6/2020 has been registered under relevant sections of UAPA in Police Station Chadoora,” he said.
