christian pilgrims turned out for christmas eve services in bethlehem. the crowds are down this year because of violence in gaza. those are some of our top stories on this christmas day, thursday, december 25th. announcer: from abc news, this is world news now. we begin with the latest police shooting controversy. there were christmas eve protests in suburban st. louis, just a few miles from ferguson. an 18-year-old black man shot dead by a white police officer in the town of berkeley in missouri. abc s alex perez reports this case is different from ferguson. reporter: mayhem in berkeley, missouri. protesters looting and tossing fireworks at officers. all this after a white police officer shot and killed 18-year-old antonio martin at another gas station nearby. police say the officer was responding to reports of a robbery and released this surveillance video. watch closely.
