Good afternoon and welcome to the last panel of the first day but i think in my opinion its the most distinguished panel of the day. And certainly its the most vital. Which is the international navys panel. We have the unique opportunity to hear from leaders of our partner navies, in this case three, their perspectives, challenges and efforts in in very dynamic and changing Global Environment which were all living in now and which has been discussed at some of the earlier panels today. Im rear admiral frank morely. And i have the privilege of moderating this very unique and critical discussion. None of us will ever forget the events of january 6. The capital was attacked by violent insurrection. Lives were lost in the days and weeks following 140 Police Officers were assaulted, 1. 5 million worth of damage was done to the capital and a Lasting Impact of that day continue to be felt across the capital complex and our community. How we remember and respond will determine how we collectively learn from the trials and mistakes of that day. As we move forward we do not want to fall into the trap of preparing to fight the last war. Rather, we must thoughtfully plan to ensure that the next one never happens. Well as the two offences that mr kalief is facing, one, under the terrorism act and also the bomb hoax there now, of course, will be an additional penalty to serve, and that is for escaping from prison. What kind of future do you think this guy has . How long will his sentence be and how secure will this prison be . Well, i think he is going to be the most guarded prisoner in the prison system once hes been returned to lawful custody. I returned to lawful custody. I think hell undoubtedly be going to a prison where hell be under the most strictest conditions. And that will be very much looked at around how much time he is allowed to either associate with other prisoners or even to have sort of recreation time. Obviously, in terms of the offences, you know, weve got the common law offence of escaping from custody.
