SC rejects petitions of Maharashtra govt and Anil Deshmukh, CBI probe to continue ANI | Updated: Apr 08, 2021 17:34 IST New Delhi [India], April 8 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed the petitions filed by the Maharashtra government and its former home minister Anil Deshmukh challenging the Bombay High Court order directing a preliminary enquiry by the CBI into the allegations of corruption and misconduct levelled against him by former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh. A bench of Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul and Justice Hemant Gupta dismissing the plea and said, We are not inclined to interfere in this (Bombay High Court) order.

Maharashtra: CBI registers inquiry to probe corruption charges against Anil Deshmukh ANI | Updated: Apr 07, 2021 06:48 IST Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], April 7 (ANI): The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a preliminary inquiry in connection with the Bombay high court order to probe allegations of corruption levelled against former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. The information was confirmed on Tuesday by the CBI spokesperson. Bombay High Court had directed CBI to start a preliminary inquiry within 15 days into allegations. Deshmukh, a former Home Minister of the Maharashtra government had filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Tuesday challenging the Bombay High Court order directing a CBI s preliminary probe against him.
