A preliminary inquiry using CCTV footage was carried out, with 96 statements registered, by the Gujarat ATS to establish that Gohil, through Bhatt, obtained various Excel sheets with suspicious transactions from the bank and froze those accounts to facilitate the money extortion onto people.
The report should include status of the FIR registered by the police, medical treatment of the victims, compensation granted to the families of deceased and injured, and the action taken against the persons responsible for the tragedy.

New Delhi, April 6 : The new chief of BCCI s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), Shabir Hussein Khandwawala, is a former top cop of Gujarat Police with huge interest in cricket having played and organised police tournaments at the state level.
The 70-year-old, who retired as the Director General of Police (Gujarat) in 2010 and also served as the Director of the state s Anti-Corruption Bureau, was the first person from Gujarat to join the Indian Police Service in 1973.
