It will be cooler today than yesterday, not by much but enough where you will notice a difference. We start out with fog and clouds, not something you see the past few days patchy fog across most of the region and the mostly sunny day is where we will end up, the extended forecast shows we should expect a major cooldown, a lot of people are looking forward to this is a look at the radar to see how widespread the cover of fog and clouds is, it is patchy right now that will burn off i midmorning right now 55 in San Francisco and oakland, 59 at concord and san jose also at 59. Santa rosa is 50. We will cool down just a bit. But it will be enough to notice a difference especially in oakland as you see 73 is the highway expect and yesterday oakland got to 78. We do know that theres been an ongoing years long federal abuse investigation going on here and years ago to eventually lead charges against the former warden and other employees. They were removed from the premises at the time today weve been made aware fbi agents stopped by again this time searching and taking computers and documents were also told. But the current warden associate warden and the captain were removed from the facility today. We spoke with a volunteer advocate with the California Coalition for women prisoners, a group part of a Class Action Lawsuit against fci and the federal bureau of prisons. Emily shapiro says last week 12 more survivors join the lawsuit. Shapiros mornings raid but suspects it likely has to do with the Class Action Lawsuit. Like yesterday starting with those showers and getting to the sunshine during the afternoon where were sitting right now. As you can see, we have a lot of clouds and those active showers moving across the region. Our heaviest of rainfall has now moved out into the Central Valley and up into the sierra foothills and a lot of snow in the sierra itself. So this is one of our last snowy impacts, at least for a little while for a mountainous regions where were sitting in the bay right now, very wettest on the peninsula. As you can see, a lot of green stretching from the Marin Headlands through San Francisco down the peninsula and across our bridges, east bay shoreline and into the south bay. Were going follow some breaking news now and begin with that here. First at noon, the fbi raiding the womens correctional facility dublin this morning. Federal investigators have seized computers and documents from that prison. The prison has recently been at the center of a yearslong abuse investigation. The lead to previous charges against a former warden and other employees. An associate warden at a captain removed from the facility this morning. While that raid was underway, Ap Investigation in 2021. Found a culture of abuse and coverups that had persisted for years at the prison and that report led to increased scrutiny from congress and pledges from the federal bureau of prisons to fix the problems. At least 8 employees, including a former warden ray garcia, have been charged with sexually abusing inmates. Garcia was convicted in 2022
