Southern gospel singer to perform for Haven of Rest women s auxiliary

AKRON – Raette George, a Southern gospel singer, will perform at the Haven of Rest women s auxiliary on July 6.
She has sung for the Cleveland Indians, International Conference of Police Chaplains, Trinity Broadcasting Network, Haven of Rest banquets and numerous local groups.
Bargain shopping that supports the Haven of Rest mission begins at 10 a.m., a light luncheon is served at noon, and the free concert starts at 1 p.m. No membership is required.
Auxiliary is held the first Tuesday of each month in the main dining room of Haven of Rest, 175 E. Market St. in downtown Akron. Free parking is available.

NORTH Wales Police have welcomed four new chaplains who will provide a ‘listening ear’ and additional support for officers, staff and volunteers. Chief Officers, the Workforce Representation Team, alongside the Citizens in Policing Team have been focusing on the development of additional multi-faith volunteer chaplains, to help provide pastoral and spiritual care for the police service in an increasingly challenging time. Policing can be a demanding and difficult role, particularly as so many of the things that officers and staff deal with are of a sensitive nature which means they are often unable to discuss what they do with even their nearest and dearest.
