However, where businesses adapted to create safe distancing, the upsurge in the staycation market had compensated for empty rooms during the first lockdown. Ms Barriball’s Polhilsa Farm, near Callington, Cornwall, eventually achieved its best financial year as restrictions were relaxed through the summer.
