Jagbir Singh, who has been an international wrestling referee since 2007, told police that he had been at the scene when a wrestler had allegedly been groped by Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh as a team photo was being clicked.
The statement said that the minor's father had explicitly stated in the Supreme Court that Brij Bhushan Singh was powerful and had requested protection as he feared intimidation and pressure from Singh and his allies.
Under normal circumstances, the police would have swung into action immediately after the complaint was lodged. But the accused has been airing his views openly against the alleged 'misuse' of the POCSO Act.
