The prices of CNG and cooking gas piped to household kitchens in the national capital was hiked today by Rs 3 each in step with rise in input natural gas prices.
APM gas makes up for two-thirds of all gas produced in the country and is converted into CNG for automobiles and piped to household kitchens for cooking.
The government revises gas prices twice annually from April 1 to September 30 and from October 1 to March 31. So, the price for October 1 to March 31 is based on the average price from July 2021 to June 2022.
City gas distributors have been periodically raising prices since October last year when domestic as well as international gas prices started to climb as economies world over recovered from the pandemic-induced slowdown.
