Addressing the annual conference of Highways Operators Association of India, road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari said the government will move to a GPS-based toll collection by March next year. The move is aimed at reducing traffic congestion and charging motorists for the exact distance travelled on the highways, he said.
Slowdown in exports, e-commerce and even the forthcoming elections will not have a great impact on the company’s bottomlines. The company is in fact, hoping to expand its orderbook and reduce debt in the near term.
With determination from the Prime Minister and the government, the electronic toll collection policy (ETC) has been brought into life after many delays.
