Way to go. Its not designed to handle all of the traffic. On weekends and commute hours theres a large backup there. Plus chain of lake intersects with mlk and jfk and i hate to say this, but not all people who use the roadway obey those stop signs. I had a scary incident, i was on jfk and chain of lake and i had the right of way according to the rule book and this lady on a bicycle just whizzed by, didnt look or stop. Scared the heck out of me. Lucky i stopped. You need to look at the big picture. Also, you need to look at 19th avenue. 19th avenue cannot handle any increase in traffic. Clerk 30 seconds. We have been trying to talk about not outsourcing people to protect the city workers and im hearing that discussion about the flaggers and the pedestrian monitors. I wonder if we could use our own workforce, the parking control people and the crossing guards instead of having the contractors hire private people. I realize that the flaggers might have their own union, so maybe thats a problem. But im hoping that we can do other things to reduce the need of contract people to prevent layoffs . Thank you.
