(WXYZ) â Governor Gretchen Whitmer has ordered U.S. and Michigan flags within all public grounds and buildings across the state to remain lowered to half-staff to remember the victims of the shooting in Indianapolis.

Eight people were killed late Thursday night at the FedEx Ground-Plainfield Operations Center near Interstate 70 across from the Indianapolis airport by a gunman who eventually took his own life.
Police said five others were hospitalized, including one with critical injuries, while two others were injured and released at the scene.

Our most heartfelt sympathies are with all those affected by this senseless act of violence. The safety of our team members is our top priority, and we are fully cooperating with investigating authorities.”
