The Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) intends to summon 27 anti-government protesters who escaped after a police vehicle was forced open during Saturday night s protest in Bangkok.
Pol Maj Gen Piya Tawichai, deputy MPB commissioner, said investigators were in the process of gathering evidence to ascertain whether the protesters had actually evaded police arrest.
The 27 protesters reportedly turned themselves in to Phahon Yothin police on Sunday and were questioned.

Police are working to identify those who hijacked police vehicles and helped two detained anti-government protesters escape during the protests in Bangkok on Saturday evening.
Royal Thai Police spokesman Pol Maj Gen Yingyos Thepjamnong said the Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) hopes to identify the We Volunteer (WeVo) guards and anti-government protesters under the Restart Democracy (ReDem) banner who were involved in the incident.

All 18 detained protesters have denied charges pressed against them in connection with fresh rallies against the government on Saturday.
Thai Lawyers for Human Rights on Sunday posted a Facebook message saying the activists, including Piyarat Toto Chonthep, denied the charges after being informed by police.
They were under detention at the Border Patrol Police Region 1 barracks in Thanya Buri district in Pathum Thani. Two of them who were underaged were temporarily released pending an ordered to appear before the Central Juvenile and Family Court later on Sunday.
