Highway 126 Fatal Crash Temporarily Blocks Travel Near Piru
A fatal crash on Highway 126 blocked all eastbound lanes near Piru Monday morning.
Around 5:20 a.m. Monday, Ventura County emergency responders received reports of a potential crash involving a box truck and another vehicle on eastbound Highway 126 near Center Street in Piru, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) Incident Logs.
At least one person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Moderate rain and very slick roads at the scene. Please use caution and expect delays on SR-126 near Piru for the next several hours. Updates to follow,” read an official statement from the CHP Moorpark office.
