Ran up here to the top of coit tower this is a special place and we all know for decades coit tower has banana amazing similarly place starting in 1893381 years ago you look great but thank you lilly for your friendship thank you to our grandfather in 1933 im sorry during the Great Depression painted 27 murals that depict our strugglers of working families and labor here in San Francisco that really is a very much part of what our city is about and who we stand for. Over the decades weve had so many members of our community the friends of pioneer park struggled to put together the resources and visit in where we are and more recently thank you to the Telegraph Hill folks yes give it up for them clapping are so many of you who handled the baton to protect the symbol of San Francisco thank you all for your effort i know the mayor is coming but the mayor responded to the request of all i have us on Telegraph Hill and working with our rec and park and our Arts Commission thank you to close
Attorney gave the advice that youre referring to, i believe there was an open seat but no disabled member on the task force and that is why the task force opted not to meet during that period until the board appointed mr. Occa. Again, i think that this confirms the point, right, that be have at some point the office of the City Attorney advising this task force if they meet, they would be in violation and what im saying is that i think that we have to be as cautious as we can and that we have to follow not only the letter, but also the spirit of the law and i think the spirit of whats in the letter and what the voters wanted was to make sure that a member of the disabled community was represented. At this point, were talking about an applicant who is qualified, bruce wolf who happens to be a member of that community, and so thats why i think its important for us to move forward with his application and approve that nomination that application today. Thank you. So lets have a role call.
In the financial district. Those viewing the tower from ground level will see if anything, only the bit of the tower for a sheer wall glass. All traces of the hillside will be lost. Im not sure what the hooit height is and i find it very difficult to understand how you can ignore these huge impacts in such important landmarks. Future generations will never be able to fully enjoy grand gestures as we do today. Please find a solution that is more respectful of this landmark and comply with the very basic principles of urban design, thank you. Good afternoon, commissioners, im wells whitney. I have lived on the hill for almost 30 years. I know all those streets. I walk my dogs an i go to the tower all the time. Several things i would like to point out, one, the west fill bert steps are only one way to get to the tower, in fact they the least used way. Usually most tourist come up to the tower if they walk. The west granite steps or the east fill bert steps. They are very busy, i see that
Foot and stopping to look, but for someone who is coming up Telegraph Hill boulevard by foot or car, thats where you are going to see the view as you glow before before the boulevard. Thats a place to put it. I like the way thats been done. I like the fact that there is another cut on the west side and cuts the impact from fill bert street. We went over the construction plan a little bit. The views from pioneer park are not affected, they are going to be about the same as they are now. You have lots of trees there and to be able to really see anything to the east to the south, you really have to be high enough on the tower itself because there are lots of trees there and as you are ascending the trails you are looking at the structures that are presently there. I do agree with the speaker who said all the other structures as you come along Telegraph Hill boulevard are side by side, there is no view corridors on any of the others. Those are the main thing, and i was happy to hear this w
Raised the notion of property taxes, if its up to 200,000 a year, every year of Affordable Housing cost 300500 Affordable Housing, all the property tax go into general fund and a small percentage. I think thats a largest barrier for me to support the project. Some thoughts and positives and negatives about the project. I watched the video and i think the design is much better in the back. Somebody said they didnt want a wall on the hill. I appreciate that you did something on that. It actually looks better from afar. There is a house on my street at the very top that you come off from the 101 it clearly dominates anything and anything to do to soften that which is iconic is a good thing. I like that reading is completely detached if you are from piner park and you are at an angle you are not going to see anything. You are going to see three structures and not see anything in front of them. I think the quality of the view created by putting the view corridor at the further down the hill
