Oxford Magistrates Court CHARLOTTE DUNNE, 39, of Bayswater Road, Headington, admitted driving at more than 40mph in a 40mph zone on the A41 Bicester on March 25. She was fined £415, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £41 and court costs of £90. Her driving licence was endorsed with six penalty points. RICKY FOTHERINGHAM, 29, of Ballingers, Shrivenham, was fined £220 and ordered to pay £124 in costs and surcharge after a charge of driving without wearing a seatbelt was found proved. CATHERINE HANDS, 31, of Russ Avenue, Faringdon, was found guilty of driving without insurance or a licence in Marlborough Close. She was fined £880, given six penalty points and ordered to pay £156 in costs and surcharge.

A man who caused a crash whilst drunk has been given a suspended sentence. Andrew Robert Mathely was behind the wheel of a Saab Vector on March 13 on Old Kempshott Lane when it was involved in a crash. He was suspected of being drunk but when asked to supply a breath specimen, failed to do so. Basingstoke Magistrates’ Court was also told that whilst he was being transferred between the crash scene and the police station in Viables, he damaged the inside of a police van. Mathely, of Wiltshire Crescent, was sent to prison for 12 weeks, but the order was suspended for 18 months.

Footage of Leighton Kimber’s brutal assault outside shops in Barton Fields, Oxford, was shared widely on social media. The victim sent the video on to detectives investigating the stabbing. On Friday, 18-year-old Kimber was sentenced to three years in youth detention for carrying out the attack. Sending him down, Judge Ian Pringle QC said: “You lost your temper and a fight started. What nobody knew until you produced it was that you had with you a weapon.
