Shes a 2010 graduate of texas tech university. And she remains in isolation at the hospital where she works. The system was established to protect those who cared for mr. Duncan as well as the community at large by identifying any potential ebola cases as early as possible and getting those individuals into treatment immediately. Ebola is transmitted by coming in contact with bodily fluids from an infected patient. The head for centers of Disease Control says breach in protocol exposed the nurse to the virus. Track a developing story. A texas nurse has gone from being a caregiver to a patient. Last week she was part of a medical team that was treating the first patient diagnosed with ebola in the u. S. Now tonight she is back inside Texas Health Presbyterian hospital in isolation. She is fighting the deadly disease herself. The centers for Disease Control say that a breach in hospital protocol caused the infection. Officials wont release the nurses name at this time, but they did say she had extensive contact with Thomas Eric Duncan before he died from ebola. It happened just outside of at t park in the area of jack london alley and giant street. Ktvu Tara Moriarty is on the scene there with the moments leading up to the shooting. Reporter the police chief says that officers were in the area and they noticed that there was a suspicious car casing the neighborhood. They noticed that the suspects got out of their car behind me here in that alley way and that is when things turned ugly. Police say the thieves broke into a mercedes suv and stole some items.
