Two starts now developing news tonight. Streets have been cleared and crowds dispersed just after a propalestinian demonstration intensified this afternoon. Hello again. This video from around 930 this evening, where police in riot gear stood on one side of the barricade and chanting protesters on the other. The Police Standoff taking place near peoples park. It was loud and tense at times, but we did not see any violence. Demonstrators were given orders to disperse, but many chose to stay in place. Protesters near the corners of peoples park started tipping over planters. Some throwing trash cans into the street. Police forced a shut down the streets surrounding the university for a time. Sunshine gardens neighborhood is being warned not to drink tap water. This yesterday morning a cal water operator noticed someone cut the locks on one of the 250,000gallon water tanks. He found graffiti and possible tampering with the venting system. They took initial water samples. Its a very heavy system. We dont think there was a breach. It is nice that we need to support the homeless and have a growing concern about the homeless here, but not in a neighborhood where there are children and dog walking.
